Netflix has scored big with KPop Demon Hunters, as the movie has officially become the most-watched title in the streamer's history, beating out a Dwayne Johnson comedy.

The animated music adventure movie arrived on Netflix on June 20, 2025, and in over two months, it has earned nearly 236 million views, according to the latest report from Variety. With this view count, it has surpassed a Netflix record, previously held by Red Notice, a 2021 action comedy flick starring Dwayne Johnson, Ryan Reynolds, Ritu Arya, and Gal Gadot.

The Ryan Reynolds starrer was the most-watched title within a month of its streaming debut. As per the Variety report, it earned over 230.9 million views so far. KPop Demon Hunters has reportedly overtaken its top spot to become the most popular movie on the streamer, in terms of the earlier-revealed total view count.

The new animated action-packed musical has topped the streaming charts on Netflix. It currently stands ahead of films like the sci-fi action drama The Adam Project, the action thriller Carry-On, and the comedic satire Don't Look Up, as per Variety. It has also marked a rare win for the streamer in terms of its theatrical earnings.

After a streaming premiere in June, Netflix decided to release KPop Demon Hunters for a limited period of a single weekend of 23-24 August. Despite its incredibly short theatrical run, the movie became the highest-grossing title at the theaters for the weekend, overtaking Zach Cregger's acclaimed mystery horror, Weapons, from the top spot at the North American box office. Other than that, the soundtrack has reportedly been a hit on streaming platforms.
