The upcoming fantasy film, Omniscient Reader: The Prophet, is all set to bring South Korean A-listers Lee Min Ho, Ahn Hyo-seop, Jisoo, and Chae So-bin all in one frame. What's even more exciting for fans is that they finally have a release date, and it's not that far.

Yes, you read that right. Lotte Entertainment dropped another action-packed trailer of Omniscient Reader: The Prophet on June 16, 2025, and confirmed the release date to be July 23, 2025.

This means the film will hit theatres next month, offering a dive into a whole new world, where survivors fight monsters and ruthless villains. For those who didn't read the novel, this film follows the narrative crafted by author Sing Shong in the acclaimed novel Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint.

As seen in the trailer, a normal man working in the corporate world is traveling in a metro when he realizes that he has entered the world he's reading about in a novel. The role has been secured by Business Proposal actor Ahn Hyo-seop, who's seen appearing as Kim Dok‑ja.

Since it was confirmed that BLACKPINK's Jisoo is teaming up with Hallyu star Lee Min Ho and other fan-adored actors like Chae So-bin and Ahn Hyo-seop, fans sensed this was going to be a gripping story. And the new trailer has confirmed it too.

As previously mentioned, Omniscient Reader: The Prophet will arrive in theatres on July 23, 2025, in South Korea. The story is about a regular guy named Kim Dok-ja, who spends years reading a long web novel online. One day, the events of that novel suddenly start happening in real life, and strangely, Kim Dok-ja is the only person who knows how things will unfold.

As the real world turns into a dangerous place filled with monsters and deadly trials, he teams up with the novel's main character, Yoo Jung-hyuk, played by Lee Min Ho. The two must find a way to survive this new world and possibly save it.

The latest teaser trailer, which dropped just yesterday, shows a lot of powerful scenes. Viewers got to see monsters appear inside everyday places like subway stations, people running for their lives, and major action sequences. There’s a dark, mysterious vibe to it, and we also see Jisoo's character, Lee Ji-hye, being one of the tough fighters.

Other familiar faces in the cast include Chae Soo-bin, Nana, Shin Seung-ho, and Kwon Eun-seong, making the cast lineup even more impressive. However, the film has also sparked a debate among fans.

Those who read the novel pointed out a few differences. In the promotional image, Jisoo's character was seen holding a gun, but in the novel, Ji-hye takes own enemies with a sword.

However, the makers have promised to stay true to the source material and offer a thrilling story. The actors have also put in great efforts in filming Omniscient Reader: The Prophet, as Lee Min Ho shared:

"I spent a lot of time thinking about the loneliness of a man who survives alone in an immortal life."

The Boys Over Flowers star continued:

"Because the character is constantly fighting, I also put a lot of effort into preparing for the action scenes."

With its unique storyline, thrilling action, and a star-studded cast, Omniscient Reader: The Prophet is shaping up to be one of the most talked-about Korean films of the year. Whether you're a fan of the original web novel or just love big fantasy adventures, this movie seems to promise a wild and emotional ride.
