Marvel’s Thunderbolts* has finally landed, and just like most Marvel movies, it leaves fans buzzing with its end-credits surprises. This time, there are two scenes after the film ends, one that's light-hearted and fun, and another that seriously sets up the MCU’s future. If you’re a Marvel fan, trust us, you’re going to want to stick around.

The film follows a group of not-so-heroic characters, Yelena Belova, John Walker, Ava Starr, Antonia Dreykov, Alexei Shostakov, and Bucky Barnes, who’ve all had rocky pasts. Brought together by Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (a shady ex-CIA boss), they're forced into a mission that could either save the world or tear it apart.

This team is basically a mash-up of Black Widow, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Ant-Man and the Wasp, and more. With connections to earlier Marvel stories, the movie feels like a sequel to several other films rolled into one.

Mid and post-credits scene breakdown

Let’s start with the mid-credits scene. This one’s classic Marvel, short, funny, and filled with subtle hints.

In the scene, we see the Thunderbolts hanging out, just having some downtime. The mood is light, and while nothing earth-shattering happens, eagle-eyed fans will notice a few small clues about how things have changed in the MCU after the movie’s main events.

Is it essential viewing? Not really. But it’s a fun little bonus, and there’s enough detail packed in that it might be worth a second look for the hardcore fans.

Now, the real show-stopper is the post-credits scene. This one is definitely worth waiting for.

In this scene, the Thunderbolts are chilling in Avengers Tower when Yelena gets a mysterious message: A strange spaceship is entering Earth’s atmosphere. Everyone rushes to the window, and what do they see? A spaceship with a giant number “4” on it.

Yep. It’s the Fantastic Four.

So what’s going on here?

From what we’ve seen in the Fantastic Four trailer, their home world is being destroyed. Some fans think it’s the work of Galactus, the planet-eating cosmic villain. This scene shows the Fantastic Four arriving in the 616 universe, our main Marvel timeline.

Why did they come here? It’s still a mystery, but whatever happened to their Earth, they’re here now, and things are about to get wild.

The post-credits scene isn’t just a fun reveal, it’s a major setup for the next big Avengers movie: Avengers: Doom’s Day.

In this upcoming movie, we might finally meet Doctor Doom. There’s a strong chance Marvel is using Thunderbolts* to slowly introduce him. Some fans even believe Doom could be from the same universe as the Fantastic Four, and he followed them into 616 for his own reasons.

Marvel is definitely playing the long game here.

Let’s not forget Valentina. She’s been in the shadows for a while, pulling strings and assembling this ragtag group.

What’s her end game? No one’s totally sure. But she’s clearly building something bigger. Maybe even a team to rival (or replace) the original Avengers.

There’s also a mysterious character named Bob (played by Lewis Pullman). He’s introduced as a prisoner, but there’s something more going on. Could he be a new hero, or a hidden villain? Time will tell.

The Thunderbolts aren’t your classic clean-cut heroes. They’re messy, flawed, and not always on the same page. But that’s exactly why they’re interesting.

Marvel’s choice to center a major movie around this team shows they’re not afraid to shake things up.

After the mixed response to Captain America: Brave New World, Thunderbolts* feels like a return to form. It’s got action, heart, humor, and serious stakes. Early reviews are calling it a win, and the post-credits scenes only fuel the hype.

With the Fantastic Four now in the picture, Doctor Doom looming, and the Thunderbolts stepping into the Avengers’ shoes, Marvel’s next phase is shaping up to be huge.

Expect more crossovers, more cosmic threats, and a whole new kind of Avengers team.

Thunderbolts* isn’t just another Marvel movie, it’s a major turning point. From a fun team-up of anti-heroes to the jaw-dropping reveal of the Fantastic Four, this film sets the stage for what’s coming next in a big way. Whether you’re a longtime fan or just hopping on now, this is one Marvel movie you’ll want to stay seated through the credits for.
