Tyrese Haliburton has finally proposed to his longtime girlfriend, Jade Jones. The professional basketball player planned the engagement and chose the Cyclones' home as the location for the event, as it is where the couple first met.
In a joint Instagram post shared on Monday, July 28, 2025, the couple announced their engagement with a carousel of photos, showcasing snippets from the event. The first slide showed Tyrese Haliburton on his knees, trying to make the relationship official, and Jade Jones stood with her hands covering her face as she looked at Tyrese with surprise.
A large “WILL YOU MARRY ME” sign is spotted in the background with flowers and balloons decorating the court of Iowa State University's Hilton Coliseum.
In another slide, the couple flashed a wide smile at the camera as Jones subtly showcased her engagement ring. Tyrese Haliburton wore black shorts and a long-sleeved pink shirt paired with a white inner shirt. Jade, on the other hand, wore an ethereal white dress featuring a low neckline, a fitted waistline, and a short, flowy skirt.
Other slides displayed the couple sharing a kiss, a close-up of the ring, and a video of Jade saying yes and accepting the ring.

Tyrese Haliburton met Jade Jones while they were still students at Iowa State University. The couple began their relationship in 2019 when Tyrese was a part of the Iowa State Cyclones, and Jade was one of the cheerleaders for the team at the time.
After finishing her term for the season, Jade shared a post on her Instagram where she revealed that she would forever be grateful to cheerleading for carrying her on a whole lot of journeys.
“As I sit here and reflect over the last four years, I truly couldn't imagine my life without this sport. Cheerleading has carried me on a journey that I will never forget. Putting in hours on hours every week has truly been an emotional outlet for me throughout college, just to let loose and be with the people who bring out the best version of myself.”
She concluded the post:
“These relationships and memories are something I will cherish for the rest of my life. Lowa State Cheerleading will forever hold a spot in my heart. To the future of this program andy cheer family, I know y'all got me.”
Earlier this year, Tyrese Haliburton and Jade celebrated their sixth anniversary of being together. Sharing photos of him and his girl, Tyrese wrote:
“6 years, countless memories, and a lifetime to go. I fall for you more every day. I've got you forever. Love you.”
Jade also celebrated the event by sharing pictures of them together. She captioned the post:
