NBA YoungBoy’s New Orleans shows to have 400 NOPD officers, drones and armored vehicles as fans are urged not to bring guns

NBA YoungBoy is currently embarked on his MASA tour. The singer started the tour back on September 1, 2025, and has so far performed in cities such as Los Angeles, Dallas, Phoenix, and Minneapolis, among others. Now the singer is set to perform at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, for two consecutive shows on October 19, 2025, and October 20, 2025, respectively.

New news has emerged that the New Orleans police will deploy more than 400 officers alongside drones and armoured vehicles at the concert site. The New Orleans Police Department Superintendent Hans Ganthier recently elaborated on the deployment plan for the upcoming concerts in a general press statement, here quoted via the WWLTV website:

"Our enforcement presence will include walking beats, mounted, bicycles, tactical units, drones, one of our armored vehicles, our light towers in key areas, and high visibility patrols throughout downtown and the French Quarter."

The superintendent later added in another portion of the press statement, quoted here via Fox8live:

"Our public message to everyone is that NOPD is prepared for this event. f you have to bring a gun, don’t come down to the areas of interest. Leave your guns at home."

The superintendent later stated to the press that the police deployment was based on intelligence assessment gathered from the singer's concerts in other cities.

NBA YoungBoy has been having issues with his MASA tour ever since it started. In late September, the singer's concert at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois, was canceled. Following that, the singer's concert at the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan, was also canceled.

More recently, the singer's second concert at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, was also canceled. In Kansas, there was trouble at his concert when a teen was arrested for assaulting an elderly employee.

NBA YoungBoy has so far collaborated with the likes of Offset, Toosii, and more during the tour. The tour features a blend of songs from the singer's MASA album as well as other parts of his career. So far, the tour is doing well, with the singer performing to sold-out venues in Houston, Dallas, and elsewhere. The tour is his first major headlining tour since 2020's Still Flexin', Still Steppin' Tour.
