My Oxford Year trailer breakdown

My Oxford Year's trailer begins with, well, an aerial view of Oxford University and then shows a ceremony welcoming the new students who have joined there. Carson's Jamie is new in England and she is also welcomed by a car driving past her and splashing water on her.

Then we meet Mylchreest's Jamie, who is getting acquainted with Carson's Anna, who is from New York City. They don't know they are going to be each other's love interest yet.

Anna is doing well and seems like she will make new friends pretty quickly, as we see a bunch of people clanking their beer glasses and cheering at a party. And this is the moment where a romantic spark between Anna and Jamie appears when he offers to walk her home.

Then as the trailer continues, we see them getting to know each other. Things seem to be going well, and by the 1:00 minute mark, it is clear that there is something real between them. They think it's fun, so they go with the flow.

While fun at first, the tension begins to grow in the second half of the trailer of My Oxford Year. It seems like Jamie is more about casual relationships, as one of Anna's friends tells her. Anna also reveals that she will eventually be going back to New York City, as that was the plan from the start. Jamie himself hints at the casual nature of the relationship when he says to her that she should not be spending her time in Oxford on him.

Tension rises when we learn that Jamie is going through something in his life but he isn't being open with Anna about it. However, we can clearly see that it's bugging him.

For what it's worth, Anna wants to stay with him despite what he is not telling her.

We also see Douglas Scott, as Jamie's father, hugging Jamie. And just like the tension rose, it goes down quickly in the final sequences. The trailer of My Oxford Year ends with glimpses of the couple spending time together, showing us moments in their relationship and Anna's willingness to stay by his side through his suffering.
