28 Days Later is directed by Danny Boyle and penned by Alex Garland. The post-apocalyptic horror film was produced by Andrew MacDonald, and it was released on June 27, 2003, by Fox Searchlight Pictures. Here's the official synopsis as mentioned on the website Letterboxd:
Twenty-eight days after a killer virus was accidentally unleashed from a British research facility, a small group of London survivors are caught in a desperate struggle to protect themselves from the infected. 28 Days Later to drop on Netflix
28 Days Later will start streaming on Netflix from Saturday, September 20, 2025. On that same day, 28 Years Later will also drop on the streamer. This will allow audiences to experience both films from the horror franchise on one platform. The first film in the franchise follows a bicycle courier who wakes up from his comatose state and realizes that society has collapsed after a virus outbreak.
Unlike previous zombies, the undead featured in this film ran at a faster pace. It is also credited with the resurrection of the zombie genre. Here's a list of its cast members:

The film was a critical success upon release and grossed $82.8 million. Its sequel, 28 Weeks Later, was made without Boyle and Garland's involvement. Released in 2007, the follow-up was also a critical and commercial success.
After more than 15 years since the sequel, Boyle and Garland returned to the franchise with 28 Years Later. The film followed a fresh set of actors and was released on June 20, 2025. It was filmed back-to-back with another follow-up called 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, directed by Nia DaCosta. The Bone Temple is slated to release on January 16, 2026, by Sony Pictures Releasing, and it will pick up from the third installment.
