Hidden details in GTA 6
Lucia Caminos & Jason Duval
There are two main protagonists in the game, Lucia Caminos & Jason Duval, and they seem to be a tight couple as they go on dates as well as rob banks together. Jason is seemingly a paratrooper, as evident from his tattoo as well as it was confirmed on the Rockstar website, while Lucia has just been released, as Jason picks her up from prison, and she was spotted with an ankle monitor,r which comes off later.
“Everybody Have Fun Tonight”
Wang Chung’s 1980s hit song, “Everybody Have Fun Tonight” is one of the songs that plays in the trailer, along with “Hot Together” by the Pointer Sisters, adding to the overall 80s theme showcased in the video, especially with the added ‘80s-themed radio station.
Real-life Miami nightclub
In one of the scenes, Jason and Lucia are spotted going to the “NINE 1 NINE” nightclub, which is seemingly based on the real-life E11EVEN nightclub in Miami. This gives the hint that we can expect to see more replicas of real-life businesses and locations from around Miami.
Fixing Some Leaks
In the beginning of the trailer you can see Jason up on the roof trying to fix something. This was a funny little nod to all the leaks that the game has suffered from before the official trailers and release date. It's a quirky little acknowledgement by the developer who has fallen victim to these leaks through the development process.
When asked what he’s doing, Jason says he’s “fixing some leaks."
Phil Cassidy
Another fun moment for the superfans is the possible return of Phil Cassidy in GTA 6. One of the main aspects of the game is to procure weapons, and this leads to running into Phil. Throughout the franchise, he has appeared in various GTA titles, from Grand Theft Auto 3 to Vice City Stories, and each time he owns a gun business. It seems this time also the protagonists will be hitting up his business, now called Phil's Ammunation.
The Gym System
Some side activities have also been added to the new GTA 6 to add to the overall experience of the game. From organised fights, fishing, pool, mini-golf, and even the gym, there is a range of side quests gamers can indulge in. Another activity that has made a comeback is weightlifting, a nod to Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, where fans are speculating if they can help Jason become more jacked like Carl Johnson from San Andreas.
PlayStation 5-Esque Console
Towards the end of the trailer, you can see Jason lying on the couch as Lucia comes back home from her mandatory community service. That's when you can spot a PlayStation 5-esque gaming console placed right next to the television. Along with the beer bottles, there is also a controller that looks a lot like the DualShock 4. This could also be due to Sony securing marketing rights to GTA 6.
Besides these easter eggs, GTA 6 offers quite a thrilling and realistic experience, making it definitely worth the wait. With superior visuals and micro details in the artwork and nostalgic elements for older fans, it creates a more immersive overall experience. GTA 5 came out on 17 September 2013, making it more than a decade since the release of a new version. For the past year, social media has been abuzz with memes and jokes regarding the delayed release of the game.
