Monica took Ray J's phone away from him amid his recent criticism of Beyoncé and Jay-Z.

The songstress took to the stage alongside the rapper this week when she demanded that he hand his phone over to her. At the time, she jokingly pointed out that everyone "loves him," noting that he "means well."

She was referring to his claims that Beyoncé and her husband took photos with everyone, including Monica and Patti LaBelle, during the The Boy Is Mine Tour, except for his sister, Brandy.

Fans have since begun reacting to the clip with humor, such as this one user who penned on X:

"Lmaoo she sound like a concerned aunty with her fav nephew that everybody in the family gave up on and can’t do nothing with. “he mean well”."

The comments didn't end there:

"When yo auntie know you ain’t shi but still got love for you : “He mean well”," one user quipped.
"Take his phone and put him in therapy," someone else demanded.
"Big Sis Mo always got to get Ray J in line," another chimed in.
"Monica is saying what everyone wants to say to Ray J, in a motherly way," a fourth user opined.

See how the rest of X is reacting:

"Ray need to grow up he’s like 54 years old," one user remarked.
"This was hilarious. The fact that Ray J knew better 2 give Mo his phone. this tickled me," another shared.
"Give his aaa a tablet and restrict his app downloads," someone else suggested.

For context, the “Sexy Can I” artist took to his Instagram on Thursday, December 2, to share a video of himself taking jibes at Jay-Z and Beyonce for their alleged actions.

“N—as need to pull up when they come to the show. Come say what’s up to Brandy too, Jay-Z and Beyoncé,” Ray J said. “We big fans, we got our family there and we know y’all there and we love y’all and we look up to y’all.” He continued: “For y’all to come to every one of Brandy and Monica’s shows and never say what’s up to B and take all the pictures, I don’t like it.”

At another point in the clip, he reiterated that he still loves the Carter family, but wished they made more of an effort to connect with his sister while attending her shows with Monica in Los Angeles and Brooklyn.

“We know you there, just walk by Brandy’s room and pull up and say, ‘What’s up, B? Have a good show.’ She don’t care, she never told me about this and I am crashing out on this one,” he added. “This is crazy.”

Ray J captioned his post:

“THIS IS COMING FROM THE HEART!! And I LOVE MY FAMILY AND I LOVE JAY AND BEY!! ——BRANDY AND THE FAMILY DID NOT CO-SIGN THIS. SHES SUPER FOCUSED ON MAKING EVERY SHOW GREAT! – I WILL PROB GET IN TROUBLE FOR THIS!! – BUT I LOVE JAY Z AND BEY!!”

As for Beyonce, she shared photos of herself alongside opener Kelly Rowland, Monica, Solange, and Patti LaBelle on her website, though Brandy was famously missing.

Brandy and Monica have been co-headlining The Boy Is Mine Tour, which had a show in Atlanta just last night. They will soon be making pit stops in New Orleans, Houston, Miami, Jacksonville and Tampa Bay.
