Amid rumors that Keith Urban had an affair with Maggie Baugh that allegedly culminated in his split from Nicole Kidman, Alexandra Kay is speaking up for her friend.

During a recent episode of Taste of Country Nights on Wednesday, October 22, Kay, 34, addressed Urban and Kidman's divorce:

“Honestly, I was heartbroken for them because the media scrutiny is insane and the things that people say … They’re like, stirring up rumors about Maggie Baugh, and I’m like, ‘She’s a good friend of mine and I know that’s absolutely not true,'” she said.

She also confirmed that Baugh, 25, is in a happy relationship:

“I’ve met her boyfriend, and she’s very happy, and she has nothing to do with that whole [Kidman and Urban] relationship.” She feels “sad for everybody involved that people are doing that and picking apart their personal life. I pray for peace for them and for everybody to have their privacy,” the country music artist added.

Everything we know about Keith Urban's alleged affair following split from Nicole Kidman:

Per People Magazine, rumors that Baugh and Urban had an affair emerged after news broke that the country star and Nicole Kidman had split up following nearly two decades of marriage. The latter reportedly filed for divorce on September 30, citing irreconcilable differences.

Shortly after, videos of Urban changing the lyrics to his track The Fighter, which was inspired by his former wife, while singing on stage emerged. The track originally goes:

“When they're tryna get to you, baby I'll be the fighter."

However, Urban changed it to:

“When they’re tryna get to you, Maggie I’ll be your guitar player."

Baugh acknowledged the moment on her Instagram when she reshared the clip with the caption:

"Did he just say that👀.”

Baugh’s dad, Chuck Baugh, took to Facebook shortly after to claim that

"Maggie may “allegedly [be] the person responsible for Keith’s divorce from Nicole Kidman.” In response, he declared: “NO. Just No."

People Magazine has pointed out that Urban changed the lyrics to the track in the past when he performed with the song’s featured artist, Carrie Underwood, in 2017 at the CMT Music Awards.

"Carrie Underwood, I'm gonna be your fighter!” he professed at the time.

As of this writing, Nicole Kidman has yet to address the split publicly. However, an insider told the Daily Mail that

"She would get back with him in a heartbeat."

The pair share daughters Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14. Nicole Kidman also mothers two adult kids she adopted during her first marriage to Tom Cruise: Isabella and Connor.
