Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness have officially ended their marriage.

The Wolverine actor, 56, and his former wife, 69, were married for 27 years. People Magazine has reported that the judgment of divorce was filed on June 12 at New York’s Suffolk County Supreme Court. The case was uploaded to the official website on Monday, June 23, which has since been marked as “Disposed.”

Furness sought a divorce back in May, two years after they announced their split. Her filing signaled an uncontested divorce, which only needed the approval of a judge.

Here's everything we know about Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness's widely publicized split

The New York Post has reported that just three months ago, rumors emerged that Hugh Jackman and his ex, with whom he shares Ava Eliot and Oscar Maximilian, were struggling with dividing their estate.

The pair reportedly did not have a prenuptial agreement in place and were in the process of dividing an estate worth about $250 million. As of this writing, the details of their divorce settlement remain scarce.

After filing for divorce, Furness issued a statement to the Daily Mail, describing it as a ‘traumatic journey of betrayal’ in her own words:

“My heart and compassion goes out to everyone who has traversed the traumatic journey of betrayal. A profound wound that cuts deep, however I believe in a higher power and that God/the universe, whatever you relate to as your guidance, is always working FOR us," she said.

She added,

“This belief has helped me navigate the breakdown of an almost three-decade marriage. I have gained much knowledge and wisdom through this experience. Even when we are presented with apparent adversity, it is leading us to our greatest good, our true purpose. It can hurt, but in the long run, returning to yourself and living within your own integrity, values and boundaries is liberation and freedom.”

As for what she learned from her divorce from Hugh Jackman, she admitted that “none of this is personal,” explaining:

“We are all on our individual journeys and I believe that the relationships in our lives are not random. We are drawn to people, we invite them in, in order to learn our lessons and to recognize and heal the broken parts of ourselves... I remain grateful.”

Back in September 2023, Hugh Jackman issued a statement on social media revealing the split:

"Our family has been and always will be our highest priority. We undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love, and kindness. We greatly appreciate your understanding in respecting our privacy as our family navigates this transition in all of our lives," their joint statement read, which they said at the time was "the sole statement either of us will make" about their split.

This update follows new of Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster’s romance. They went public back in January and have since reportedly moved in together.

New Idea has reported that shortly after news of the two dating emerged, sources close to Deborra-Lee Furness said that she was not happy with her ex moving his 50-year-old beau into the home they once shared. The house in question is a $33 million New York City penthouse apartment they had purchased in 2022.

Noting that Furness was “shattered” by Hugh Jackman’s decision, the source told the outlet:

“This was their ultimate family dream home, and a space that was meant to reboot their marriage. A year later, they would be filing for divorce.” They added, “This isn’t about Hugh moving on. Deb just wants to be treated fairly so she can move on, too. She’s genuinely worried about Hugh and thinks he’s moving way too fast. She wants him to be happy – he deserves it and so do the kids, but Hugh’s completely green when it comes to dating. She’s concerned he’s leaping into living with someone else way too soon.”

Another source close to Furness told the outlet:

“It’s almost unreal seeing Sutton reap the rewards of all those years of her supporting Hugh. She thought Hugh would be more subtle, but this feels like a betrayal of their 27 years.”

Furness was last seen on May 20, when he stepped out in New York City. People Magazine has reported that she was seen at Parsons School of Design's 2025 Parsons Benefit. As for Hugh Jackman, he continues to make public appearances and is reportedly involved in an off-Broadway production as of this writing.
