Rapper Blanco Brown shared his opinion about AI in the music industry. According to TMZ, recently, an AI-generated song Walk My Walk had been making rounds on social media. Following that, Brown made his own version of the song using his own team members. Meanwhile, during a conversation with the media outlet, the discussion arose that Brown was not fighting the “inevitable.” The hosts pointed out that people would still listen to good music even if it were generated using AI.

One of the hosts mentioned that what he essentially tried to do with the song is create a difference between human-made music and an AI-generated one. Nevertheless, the other host opined that the AI-generated one was liked by people. Blanco Brown replied:

“Listen, being number one is sometimes subjected to like what people run up the charts, what people are paying for, what people are doing, that don’t make something great. To be human, to create, to have feelings, to have emotion, that can never be replaced. AI will never create a reality. It will never have feeling and it can’t replace real people.”

When asked if he would fight against the discourse or be a part of it, Blanco Brown replied:

“I feel like people respond to anything that’s catchy even if it ain’t that great but if you can’t beat them, you might as well join them and actually I am not intimidated by it at all. I will continue to create human music.”

What did Blanco Brown say about the person behind the AI-generated song?

When asked if he had to work with the creators of the original AI-generated Walk My Walk, Blanco Brown said:

“Not at all. I went in from scratch and actually created this whole version within 48 hours with a whole human team, from session players to producing it out myself.”

Elsewhere during the conversation, Brown said that he was the first person to do a lot of other things. He said he disrupted country music in 2019 and went on to become the number one. Speaking of the song in question, he said it felt like a “watered-down version” of himself. He claimed that the person who was behind the AI-generated song was someone whom he had helped mentor. Speaking of them, Brown said:

“He hasn’t come forward yet. So, there are some likenesses but it’s not Blanco Brown. So, I am taking back what humanity has created and that’s God’s purpose for us to create what we do. See, it’s easy for a robot to just generate some sounds and some lyrics. But I have been writing my story my whole life. It’s real circumstances and here we are.”

When the song first came out, Blanco Brown shared a statement, saying:

“Nashville closed the doors on Black artists for years only to let Ai walk in and steal the show when we created the flow. The joke writes itself. #Karma.”

Reflecting on that, Brown said when he went to Nashville, those programmers did not want to play him. Nevertheless, he was motivated to bring the best version of country music.
