“All she heard was me scream”—Rosamund Pike recalls traumatic incident while on phone with her mother

According to a recent article by the Hollywood Reporter, acclaimed actress Rosamund Pike recalled a terrifying incident that she experienced a few years ago.

During the latest interview with Magic Radio, the Gone Girl star narrated an incident when she was attacked while she was in London. Pike recently recalled the incident in an interview.

“I was on the phone to my mother, on a mobile phone walking along a road, and I was mugged.The phone was snatched, so all she heard was me scream and a thud, and the phone went dead."

The incident was also reported by the Independent Reporter in 2006.


About Pike's incident

The English actress was attacked while walking on the road and talking on the phone with her mother in London. She gave further details of the horrific incident on Magic Radio and said that the criminal also punched her face.

Pike further said that it wasn't just a case of mugging, but she had bruises on her face as a result of the assault. The assailant also took the phone from Pike's hand. While she was hurt and angry momentarily, she said she knew her mother would have been terrified because of her screaming and the abrupt end of her call.

The actress further said that she gathered her strength, reached a pub to meet her friends in 15 minutes, and called her mother back. Rosamund Pike continued,

"I walked to the pub and called [my mom] when I got there and met my friends, but for her, it was probably a pretty horrible 15 minutes."

On the same podcast, Rosamund Pike's Hollow Road co-star Matthew Rhys recalled a similar incident that is also included in their new project, which has recently debuted in the United Kingdom.

Hollow Road is a thriller that stars Rosamund Pike and Rhys as simple parents who receive a distressing late-night phone call from their daughter, which gets disrupted midway. The parents (played by Rosamund Pike and Rhys) rush to their daughter's location, only to find a series of distressing events unfolding.

As per Entertainment Weekly, she had endured an injury last year before walking the Golden Globes red carpet. Pike revealed that she had an accident while skiing during Christmas. The actress told,

"I had an accident over Christmas, actually. I had a skiing accident and I had to think, that's not what you want knowing you're coming to the Golden Globes on the seventh of January."

Rosamund Pike wore a lacy headpiece by Dior, which also served as a headpiece at the Golden Globes red carpet last year. She further said that the skiing incident took place on December 23, 2023, and that her face was entirely smashed. Though Pike's face was mostly healed, she still opted for wearing a veil.
