Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice has been accused of domestic abuse by his ex-partner, Dacoda Nichole. On January 7, Nichole shared a lengthy Instagram post with photos of the physical harm she endured. However, her post does not mention Rashee Rice explicitly. As seen in the photos, there are bruise marks on her lips, legs, and arms. One of the photos also showed bruise marks on her face.Other photos in the carousel showed damaged furniture in the house with marks and dents on the walls and cupboards. In the caption, she wrote:“I’m so tired of keeping quiet I’m so tired of protecting his image. I’ve been through too much in a span of 8 years and I’ve had ENOUGH! I’ve dealt with abuse for years, me and this man decided to break up a couple months ago and since then it’s been nothing but h*ll.”She alleged that Rashee Rice was a “controlling” person. There were times when he would go to her new place and damage doors and furniture. She further wrote:“There’s been times when he would put his hands on me while I was pregnant even had the audacity to lock me outside all night in ten degree weather because he got caught cheating. He’s cut up all my shoes and clothes leaving me with nothing because he’s gotten caught up.”Besides cheating, Nichole alleged that Rashee Rice did not take good care of his children. Mentioning an incident, she wrote that he left them in Kansas and she had to ask for money from him. She also wrote:“He’s now trying to remove me and my kids from our home for no apparent reason. I’ve known this man for YEARS. He tries to put on this persona like he’s dad of the year. He does the bare minimum and I have to beg for that.”Why was Rashee Rice suspended previously?In her Instagram post, Dacoda Nichole said that she was done with protecting Rashee Rice’s image. She wrote that it was time for her to step up and protect her kids. Amidst all these, the Kansas City Chiefs shared a statement in light of the events. According to a report by KMBC News, they mentioned:“The club is aware of the allegations on social media and is in communication with the National Football League. We have no further comment at this time.”In 2025, Rashee Rice was suspended for six months for his involvement in a 2024 hit-and-run case. Ahead of the Chiefs-Raiders game in October 2025, he spoke to KMBC 9, where he was asked about his return to the game after suspension. He said:“Yeah, this week is really big. It’s been a while since I got to play in a regular season game with my guys so I am very excited to be out there, to go out there and compete.”Rashee Rice also complimented the brotherhood between him and his team members. He said that not only in the field, but they do everything for each other even outside the field. Hence, it was easy for them to relate to each other.
