Less than a week after headlines by tricking Howard Stern's listeners into thinking he had taken his place on the show, Andy Cohen, the Bravo star and host of Watch What Happens Live, has agreed to a new three-year contract deal with SiriusXM. Cohen will continue to lead his Radio Andy channel and daily show, Andy Cohen Live, as a result of the agreement.

In 2015, Cohen launched Radio Andy and Andy Cohen Live, his daily program. With a combination of celebrity interviews, Bravo gossip, fan calls, and contributions from rotating hosts which include Jeff Lewis, Tinx, Bevy Smith, Dorinda Medley, Julia Cunningham, and Sandra Bernhard, the channel has grown over the ten years and has become a favorite for fans of pop culture.

Cohen thanked SiriusXM for his ongoing presence:

“I feel incredibly lucky to have a home at SiriusXM that’s allowed me to build a destination for pop culture and fun, featuring talent that I love and admire,” said Cohen. “SiriusXM appreciates talent, and I appreciate them!”

The SiriusXM President and Chief Content Officer of SiriusXM, Scott Greenstein, praised Cohen's impact on the network, saying:

“We’re incredibly proud to celebrate 10 years of Radio Andy and even more excited that Andy will continue to be a vital part of the SiriusXM family.”

He added:

“Over the past decade, the channel has evolved into a truly unique destination—a vibrant home for pop culture enthusiasts who come for the bold, live, and unfiltered energy that only Radio Andy delivers.”

Additionally, Cohen will keep curating the Kiki Lounge music channel, which plays a wide range of songs from U2 to Madonna. Later this autumn, he will host a live broadcast from the Radio Andy anniversary celebration in New York City to commemorate the occasion.

The Howard Stern and the Andy Cohen "Andy 100" prank

The new deal with SiriusXM, comes weeks after Andy Cohen along with Stern, had pranked Howard Stern fans. This was a well-publicized on-air stunt. Cohen shocked listeners on September 8 by taking over the Howard 100 channel at 7 a.m. and announcing that Stern was no longer there and that the station was now renamed to "Andy 100."

He said on air:

"This is not the voice you probably wanted to hear, but it is I, Andy Cohen, and this is our first day broadcasting on Channel 100. Andy 100 is what it’s being referred to around Sirius for the last few days. I know that you’re expecting a big announcement from Howard, and this is not how things were meant to go.”

Cohen continued:

"There’s been a lot of talk about what’s going to happen with Howard’s deal. Is he fired? I don’t know how much I’m allowed to say, except that he’s not here and I am."

The station was flooded with calls from fans who listened to the radio and had asked for clarification, while some others expressed shock.

It was revealed to be a prank only after Howard himself came back from a break and told everyone that it was a prank:

"That was all masterminded by me. I said to Andy, would you cut a bit for us? And he immediately said yes. I said go as long as you want because the longer it goes on, the more people think it’s real. And Andy had no problem with that. He’s the best. ... Love him for doing that. Thank you, Andy Cohen, and Andy 100."

Andy Colbert has been doing it for years and has established himself as a versatile host. He has interviewed people like Pamela Anderson, Robert De Niro, Sarah Jessica Parker, John Mayer, Nicole Kidman, Lizzo, Ed Sheeran, Jonas Brothers, Dave Franco, Alison Brie, Snoop Dogg, Colman Domingo, Luke Bryan, Dolly Parton, Jon Bon Jovi, Ralph Fiennes, Elton John and Stephen Colbert on the channel proving that his contract renewal is deserved.
