Anthony Mackie's first stint as Captain America has brought in mixed reviews from the public as many held distinct opinions about the new Avenger and how he fits into Marvel's newer phases. After the release of the first film, Mackie is now all set to reprise his role in Avengers: Doomsday, where he will be joining a stunning ensemble of Marvel characters across different projects and timelines, who are coming together to give life to Marvel's biggest project since Avengers: Endgame.
Avengers: Doomsday will see appearances from a few Avengers, the X-Men, the Fantastic Four, and a few other scattered characters of the MCU. Talking to ScreenRant's Joe Deckelmeier, Captain America opened up on which X-Men character he's most excited to team up with, and his answer is quite exciting.
Naming a few X-Men, Mackie said,
"Look, I am a big Cyclops fan. That's my favorite X-Men. I have a Cyclops action figure on my key chain that I've had since high school. When I was in high school, the X-Men cartoon was really big, and this was before the movies. I've always been a huge Cyclops fan, and I'm really, really excited - hopefully, knock on wood - for them to be a part of it and come into it. [I'm excited] to hang out with Xavier and Beast and all those guys. But my favorite is Nightcrawler. If I can hang out with one character? Me and Nightcrawler in the French Quarter during Mardi Gras for two weeks, that's what I do."

Speaking to IGN, the actor revealed that production will begin soon as he shared his excitement for the project.
“We’re supposed to go out this week, and we’ll be out there doing it. Everybody’s excited. I feel with the script and having the Russo brothers back, it’s going to be great.”
He further added,
"I’m really excited for what this project is going to be. It’s going to give the audience that old Marvel feeling that they always had.”
Doomsday is all set to bring back the ensemble of Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Danny Ramirez as Joaquin Torres, aka the new Falcon, Sebastian Stan as the Winter Soldier and Paul Rudd as Ant-Man. They will be joined by Tom Hiddleston's Loki, Florence Pugh's Yelene Belova, and Robert Downey Jr, who is returning on Marvel screens as the antagonist Doctor Doom.
