More from Kevin James' interview, as he talks about his performance with Jelly Roll
Kevin James, during his interview with People Magazine, said that he has known Jelly Roll for a long time, and since both of them were in Columbus, Ohio, it made for the perfect opportunity for them to perform together. He said:
"We just happened to be in Columbus together and we just went out and had fun."
According to People Magazine, the show took place at the Buckeye Country Supertest on June 21, where many headliner acts performed. According to the Columbus Dispatch, the lineup included the likes of Kane Brown, Megan Moroney, Dasha, Conner Smith, among others, who performed for their fans at the country music festival on that day.
In a video posted by a fan, Jelly Roll can be seen informing his fans that the Zookeeper actor would be joining him on stage to perform his 2022 lead single, Need a Favor, from his sixth studio album, Whitsitt Chapel.
During his interview, Kevin James also spoke about the Wild Ones singer, whose real name is Jason Bradley DeFord. He added that they were close friends and praised him for being a nice person. He said:
I’m a good friend of his. [He] is a great friend of mine and he is also a wonderful human being.”
Kevin James further added he was interested in doing some plays for Broadway, before cheekily adding that he was only interested in those that involved dancing, seemingly suggesting that the viral video of him singing could act as his audition tape. He said:
"I was born to dance, so if there's a dancing show, then I would be interested in. Other than that, I can't be bothered. It's got to be full dance.”
Kevin James and Jelly Roll's performance was particularly loved by fans, as both of them looked almost alike. They wore a matching all black ensemble, which included a black cap worn backwards, with the only difference being that the Halfway to Hell singer is heavily tattooed and was wearing heavy platinum chains around his neck, according to People Magazine.
