Liam Neeson was previously married to actress Natasha Richardson. The couple tied the knot in 1994. They were together for fifteen years until her sudden death from a skiing accident in 2009. The pair had previously met in 1993 while starring opposite each other in the Broadway production of "Anna Christie."

The couple shared two children, Daniel and Micháel, whom Neesan has raised as a single parent following his wife's death. According to People Magazine, Richardson passed away after sustaining an injury to her head while skiing in Mont Tremblant.
