Machine Gun Kelly put an end, at least for now, to the chatter about him and actress Sydney Sweeney. The 35-year-old musician, born Colson Baker, joined Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, where the host brought up the romance rumors head-on. Reading a question from a viewer identified as Kyle P, Cohen asked,
“MGK, Kyle P wants to know if there’s any truth to the rumor that you and Sydney Sweeney were more than just friends.”
The singer-songwriter, also known as MGK, shook his head, locked eyes with the camera, and quipped,
“Kyle P, shut up, dude.”
The response drew a round of laughter from Cohen and the studio crowd.
The rumor has been building since May this year, when Page Six published images of the two embracing at a Las Vegas club opening. Later that month, MGK posted a set of Instagram photos, one of which showed him and Sweeney flashing peace signs, joined by Patrick Schwarzenegger and hairstylist Glen Oropeza.
MGK and Sydney Sweeney’s Vegas hug sparks chatter amid their breakups from Megan Fox & Jonathan Davino

Page Six obtained exclusive footage of Machine Gun Kelly and Sydney Sweeney leaning in to talk and sharing a hug during the opening of a club at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas. The moment came shortly after news broke that Sweeney had ended her engagement to Jonathan Davino.
MGK, meanwhile, had also experienced a breakup. He and Megan Fox split over the Thanksgiving weekend in 2024 after what TMZ described as:
"material on MGK’s phone."
According to the outlet, the two had been in Vail, Colorado, when Fox allegedly made the discovery that upset her, prompting her to leave early. Although the relationship ended, the pair had their first child together in March. A source previously told Page Six the two intend to maintain a positive co-parenting arrangement.
Sydney Sweeney calls off wedding to Jonathan Davino, confirms relationship is over

Sydney Sweeney decided it was time to end the speculation. In a May 31 profile for The Sunday Times, tied to her AppleTV+ release Echo Valley, the 27-year-old confirmed she was no longer engaged to Jonathan Davino, her partner of almost seven years.
“Yes,” she answered when asked if she was single, adding:
“I’m learning a lot about myself, spending more time with my friends. And I’m loving it.”
Her straightforward confirmation arrived after months of quiet whispers and media reports. By March, People, TMZ and Us Weekly had all cited sources claiming the couple had split.
“Sydney and Jonathan are officially split,” a source told Us Weekly.
Another source said wedding plans had been scrapped:
“They were supposed to get married this spring… Sydney wanted to cancel everything and couldn’t handle the stress.”
Soon after, Sweeney was photographed out with Anyone But You co-star Glen Powell in Dallas. A source told Us they were “just friends.”
Sweeney and Davino had kept their romance largely private since sparking dating rumors in 2018, confirming their engagement in March 2022. Sweeney had described their relationship to Glamour U.K. as unusually steady for her industry and age.
She also admitted a “false narrative” about the couple had circulated for six years, but noted their success as producing partners. She said:
“It’s really great to work with someone who knows you so well… And it’s nice. I mean, who doesn’t want to be with their best friend all the time?”
