T.J. Holmes and Amy Robach are going strong. Though no official updates have been shared about their rumored nuptials, the couple recently teased a potentially ‘major’ milestone for the pair may be on the way.
While speaking openly on their Amy & T.J. podcast in an episode that aired on September 8, the eponymous hosts addressed the possibility of expanding their family through adoption. Interestingly, the call to action seemed to admittedly be on T.J. Holmes' behalf:
"We have talked more lately about having kids. We have talked more lately about the idea of even adopting a child, and usually it's me bringing it up."
T.J. Holmes went on to say:
“I need to write-in to my own damn column to get some advice about what to do when the person you’re with — who is maybe at an advanced baby-making age — laughs every time you bring up the possibility of kids.”
Amy Robach clarified that after having been diagnosed with cancer in 2013 and subsequently sending it into remission, she would not elect to give birth again, although her statement does not definitively shut the door on adoption.
“I can laugh now because that ship has sailed so long ago. So that’s why I do chuckle, because yes, that was a painful thing to hear at 40. But I have come to peace with it and am very happy to have had two children.”
T.J. Holmes and Amy Robach - A brief history
T.J. Holmes and Amy Robach are proud of the blended family ecosystem they have established as a unit. Robach entered the relationship with two daughters from her marriage with ex-husband Tim McIntosh, while T.J. Holmes has three children (two girls and a boy) from his first two marriages. Their ability to sustain a healthy environment for their children to this point has seemingly given the couple hope about adoption.
Amy Robach shared the following insight on the latest episode of their podcast, in reference to T.J. Holmes’ youngest child:
“I’m saying this genuinely — my girls have now gone off — but to have Sabine around is joy. I absolutely, totally appreciate and actually really look forward to and love having that childlike, that sweetness around. It’s awesome.”
Holmes then chimed in with his take:
“It’s not even a matter of watching you and your girls, you watching me with mine. It’s just really a matter of when you are with [someone], you can’t help but want to create your own unit. And yes, those units sometimes come from other pieces and places coming together, but you can have them.”
Former hosts of the longstanding program Good Morning America, Holmes and Amy Robach have managed to navigate the trials of their early days as a couple and have settled in comfortably to their new norm. Both T.J. and Amy were fired from their tenure on their hit ABC show due to rumors of their months-long affair, prior to separating from their existing partners.
