Avatar: Fire and Ash box office prediction - James Cameron film projected to have an opening of over $110 million

Avatar: Fire and Ash is the forthcoming sequel to 2022's Avatar: The Way of Water. It's directed by James Cameron, who has also penned the screenplay with Rick Jaffa, Amanda Silver, Josh Friedman, and Shane Salerno. The film will be released on December 19, 2025, by 20th Century Studios. Here's the official synopsis as per IMDb:

Jake and Neytiri's family grapples with grief after Neteyam's death, encountering a new, aggressive Na'vi tribe, the Ash People, who are led by the fiery Varang, as the conflict on Pandora escalates and a new moral focus emerges.

Ahead of its release, the film's projected box office collection is crossing $110 million.


Avatar: Fire and Ash is projected to score more than $110 million

Avatar: Fire and Ash is projected to gross more than $110 million on its opening day at the box office. Deadline is speculating that the number can also be in the range of $100 million to $130 million. The second film was a big financial success despite coming more than a decade after the first Avatar. Avatar: Fire and Ash is expected to benefit from the hype as well as its screening in different high-def cinemas, including IMAX.

The film is produced by James Cameron and the late Jon Landau under their banner of Lightstorm Entertainment. It will have its premiere at LA's Dolby Theatre on December 1, 2025. This will be followed by a theatrical release on December 19. The film's success will also determine if Cameron will move ahead with a potential fourth installment. He has stated that it will only happen if Avatar: Fire and Ash succeeds. Its cast members include,

The franchise began in 2009 with Avatar. It was made with extensive use of motion capture technology and was a massive commercial success.
