Sigourney Weaver recently reprised her role in the latest Avatar film, playing Kiri, the daughter of Dr. Grace Augustine, another role she portrayed in the franchise. Avatar: Fire and Ash didn't receive an overwhelmingly positive response it was supposed to when speaking of it critically. Currently, the film holds a 67% score on Rotten Tomatoes. On the contrary, fans loved it and gave it a 91% score there.

The actress recently appeared in an interview with Dexerto, where she revealed the one film that she acted in that she wants fans to watch. It's a forgotten drama from 1999 called A Map of the World, which also stars Julianne Moore, David Strathairn, Chloë Sevigny, and more. About the film, she said that,

Well, I think I would love more people to have seen A Map of the World, which I thought was one of my most interesting characters and a great movie. I recently saw it at a festival and I thought "whoa! that's really good, I am proud of it."

The Sigourney Weaver film currently has a 67% Rotten Tomatoes score based on 55 critics. However, the audience there didn't like it as much as the critics, giving it a 55% score.

In the film, Weaver plays Alice Goodwin, a woman living in a small, peaceful town. While they live peacefully there, things turn around real quick when the dead daughter of her neighbors is found on her property.

A Map of the World is often cited as one of the actress’s stronger performances throughout her career. But the three-time Academy Award nominee has more projects that are well worth watching. The Avatar films are among them, so you can start with those, as the latest in the franchise just landed in theaters.

Her 1988 film Working Girl is something that should be on your watchlist. She plays a Manhattan boss, Katherine Parker. The character is a villain but also a great portrayal of how one survives in the corporate world. Other than this film, we should not forget the Alien franchise, where she plays the original protagonist, Ellen Ripley.

Then we should not forget Sigourney Weaver's performance as Dana Barrett in the legendary Ghostbusters films. That shows her range from going serious to comic, considering the themes of franchises like Aliens.

We are hopeful that she will reprise her role in future Avatar films, but before they are released, she will appear in The Mandalorian and Grogu next year.
