Starfighter, also known as Star Wars: Starfighter, is an upcoming film in the space opera genre. Shawn Levy directs it, while Jonathan Tropper is the writer. The film's storyline will take place five years post the events of 2019's Rise of the Skywalker. The franchise started in 1977, created by George Lucas. The film was an enormous critical and commercial success and was followed by The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.
