Hocus Pocus 3 is the third installment in the Hocus Pocus franchise and a sequel to 2022's Hocus Pocus 2. The fantasy-comedy-drama franchise began in the year 1993, and the sequel arrived nearly three decades later in 2022. Bette Midler, who played the role of Winifred Sanderson, has recently given an important update regarding the third installment.

Midler said that a script for the film is ready and it's "brilliant." Let's find out all the details about the forthcoming sequel and Midler's comment.

Bette Midler reveals Hocus Pocus 3 script is ready

Hocus Pocus 3 is getting yet another update as actress Bette Midler recently spoke to Watch What Happens Live. She revealed to host Andy Cohen that the script is ready.

“Well, you know, they sent a script. And a lot of it was brilliant. So, I got very excited and now we’re trying to figure out what it is and where it’s going to be and how much it’s going to cost and all those logistical things.”

Back in July, Sarah Jessica Parker (who played Sarah Sanderson in the franchise) spoke to Cohen about the threequel.

“No more developments other than we would like to do it. We’ve been having some conversations. I think if they’re gonna [do it], they oughtta because time is not just marching. Time is barrel-assing to the finish line. Get us while we’re still breathing, I mean, God!”

Hocus Pocus 3 was officially announced in June 2023 by Sean Bailey (Walt Disney President). Anne Fletcher was slated to return for the third installment, while the script is being penned by Jen D'Angelo.

The franchise began in 1993 with the first film directed by Kenny Ortega. It focused on three witches who are accidentally resurrected by a young boy on a Halloween night. Upon release, it was a critical and commercial disappointment. It managed to find an audience on Freeform and the Disney Channel. A sequel, Hocus Pocus 2, dropped on Disney+ on September 30, 2022. Both Fletcher and D’Angelo reprised as director and writer, respectively, along with some cast members.

Since the sequel came out, buzz around a potential third installment has been doing the rounds. Several cast members across different timelines had shown interest in reprising their roles.
