Elizabeth Hurley recently sat down with Hello! magazine to provide an update on her life. Published on September 1, the interview was overtly positive and hopeful for the future. The accomplished actress, fresh off the heels of celebrating her 60th birthday in June, shared the following with the publication:
“This year marks my 30th year working with the Estée Lauder Companies and my 30th year as the Global Ambassador for the Estée Lauder Companies’ Breast Cancer Campaign, which is the most meaningful work of my life. We’ve helped raise over a billion dollars for life-saving breast cancer research.”
Elizabeth Hurley went on to say,
“I also met and fell in love with my boyfriend. So yes, a good year.”
Hurley is currently dating country music icon Billy Ray Cyrus. The two went public with their romance in a joint Instagram post on Easter Sunday in April. When asked in a Hello! interview, what makes her happy, Hurley responded as follows:
“My friends, family, Billy Ray, my dogs, my parrot and my new tortoise James. I’ve been in England all summer for the first time ever and have loved every moment. Billy is teaching me to play the guitar; right now I’m appalling, but I’m hoping to improve!”
Elizabeth Hurley and Billy Ray Cyrus - A timeline, more
According to insiders who spoke with Us Weekly shortly after Elizabeth Hurley and Billy Ray Cyrus had gone public, the pair had been “friends for years, but it turned romantic recently.” Shortly afterwards, Billy Ray shared his views on his relationship with Hurley during an April radio interview on The Ty Bentil Show.
“She’s a great human being. If all we ever were [was] the friends that we are … I would take that. She’s so impressively brilliant.”
He went on to add,
“The oddest part was first how much we laughed. Second, I figured we were so different, but in some very strange way, we had way more in common than we had different.”
For her part, Elizabeth Hurley continued by giving some more details to Hello! regarding how she and her new beau have been staying busy,
"Billy and I have had most of the summer off. We've seen both his daughters play in London, which was great. He's very supportive and that feels nice.”
She continued,
"We've adopted two tortoises, and I have become something of a bird watcher. We've just seen some goshawks. They're unbelievable. Very, very rare. There are only 1,000 nesting pairs in the UK."
Elizabeth Hurley is currently hosting reality television series The Inheritance alongside Robert Rinder.
