Some Taylor Swift fans expressed confusion with the ongoing Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively court drama, as Taylor Swift’s name was mentioned in court filings.
However there was much to celebrate for Taylor’s fans as the ordeal didn’t last long. Previously Justin Baldoni’s legal counsel had accused Blake Lively of trying to force her longtime friend Taylor Swift to show public support for her, during the ongoing It Ends With Us court battle.
Blake Lively had a minor victory as Judge Liman dismissed the letter sent by Baldoni’s legal team, which had accused Blake Lively of secretly attempting to harass the pop star. According to People, the legal back-and-forth in the Baldoni case escalated, when Judge Liman slammed the recent court submission as “irrelevant” and “improper.” The judge didn’t stop there, as he also warned Baldoni’s lawyer, Bryan Freedman, that any future abuse of the court docket might bring about sanctions.

What did Judge Liman say, regarding the letter sent by Justin Baldoni's counsel:
"The sole purpose of the Letter is to 'promote public scandal' by advancing inflammatory accusations, on information and belief, against Lively and her counsel, it transparently invites a press uproar by suggesting that Lively and her counsel attempted to 'extort' a well-known celebrity." shared the judge during the filing.
As reported by E! News, Judge Liman dismissed the letter submitted in the ongoing legal matter involving Justin Baldoni, as he found that the document lacked relevance. The letter, which cited an anonymous source alleging that Blake Lively requested Taylor Swift delete their text correspondence, was deemed by the judge to be of “no use” to the court and characterized as a “reservoir of libelous statements for press consumption.”
Judge Liman concluded his remarks with a warning to Baldoni’s attorneys that “Future misuse of the court’s docket may be met with sanctions.”
A spokesperson for Blake Lively responded after the legal dispute escalated, telling People,
"It took the court less than 24 hours to see through Mr. Freedman’s irrelevant, improper and inflammatory accusations, strike them, remove them from the court and warn Mr. Freedman that further misconduct may be met with sanctions."
Blake Lively’s lawyers have rejected recent allegations as “false and defamatory,” accusing the Justin Baldoni side of trying to influence media via court filings. Lively’s attorney, Mike Gottlieb, told People,
"This is categorically false. We unequivocally deny all of these so-called allegations, which are cowardly sourced to supposed anonymous sources and completely untethered from reality."
In a report shared by People, Freedman, in a later affidavit, reiterated the claims. He said a source approached him through a mutual contact and substantiated the claims through multiple conversations. According to Freedman, the source alleged that Lively’s attorney had contacted Taylor Swift’s legal team with threats related to Super Bowl publicity. The affidavit also claims Lively was willing to release “10 years” of private texts.
Taylor Swift has denied any involvement with the Justin Baldoni and Lively controversy. The Blank Space singer's team clarified that she had no role in the production of It Ends With Us. A spokesperson for Swift told Us Weekly on Friday, May 9, that,
“Taylor Swift never set foot on the set of this movie, she was not involved in any casting or creative decisions, she did not score the film, she never saw an edit or made any notes on the film,”
“She did not even see It Ends With Us until weeks after its public release, and was traveling around the globe during 2023 and 2024 headlining the biggest tour in history,” added the representative.
After months of legal proceedings, the courtroom showdown between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni is expected to begin in March 2026.
