The Boston Online Film Critics Association Awards, aka BOFCA, announced the winners for this year’s awards on December 20. The awards are given under 14 different categories. The winners for the Boston Online Film Critics Association Awards are decided by a community of film critics in Boston.

The official website of BOFCA mentioned its beginnings in the following words:

“The Boston Online Film Critics Association was established in May of 2012 in order to foster a community of web-based film critics and provide them with a supportive group of colleagues and a professional platform for their voices to be heard.”

It continues as:

“In addition, we seek to become active members of the Boston film community by sponsoring screenings, supporting local film festivals, offering educational outreaches, and celebrating the achievements of individuals who make Boston a haven for cinephiles.”

Major wins at this year’s Boston Online Film Critics Association Awards were bagged by movies like One Battle After Another, Marty Supreme, No Other Choice, Sinners, The Secret Agent, and more. Leonardo DiCaprio’s One Battle After Another won awards in categories like Best Film and Director. Kpop Demon Hunters won the Best Animated Film title.

The association also listed the year’s top 10 movies.
