A brand new IMAX poster for Zootopia 2 is released

Zootopia 2 will officially be released in IMAX theaters, as a brand-new poster for the highly anticipated sequel suggests. This means fans will get to experience the chaotic, magical world of Zootopia on immersive screens, as the film is all set to premiere this November.

A follow-up to 2016's Zootopia, the sequel will revolve around Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps' relationship as they team up to work with the Zootopia Police Department as their first bunny and fox cops. Along with that, the premise comes with a lot more action and thrills, as well as a brand-new slithering villain who is the first reptile Zootopia has seen in years.

Speaking about the film, writer and director Jared Bush told Disney,

“In the first film, they were partners for about 48 hours, so there’s a lot more they need to learn about each other. They made it over that first hurdle, but now they have to figure out if they’re really designed to function as a team in the long run. Judy and Nick are very different, and in this film, they’re thrust into a very different scenario that challenges them.”

Zootopia 2 comes with all the old faces and some fresh new additions, including Ke Huy Quan, Fortune Feimster, Andy Samberg, David Strathairn, Patrick Warburton, and Quinta Brunson.

Zootopia 2 marks Disney’s long-awaited return to the vibrant mammal metropolis audiences fell in love with back in 2016. Produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios and set to release in the United States this November, the animated buddy-cop comedy brings back directors Jared Bush and Byron Howard, with Bush also serving as writer and Yvett Merino as producer.

The sequel reunites fans with Judy Hopps, played by Ginnifer Goodwin, and Nick Wilde, played by Jason Bateman, now seasoned officers in the Zootopia Police Department. Their latest case spirals into mystery when a reptilian newcomer named Gary De'Snake, voiced by Ke Huy Quan, slithers into town.

The official synopsis of the film reads,

Judy and Nick find themselves on the twisting trail of a mysterious reptile who arrives in Zootopia and turns the mammal metropolis upside down. To crack the case, Judy and Nick must go undercover to unexpected new parts of town.

The film also has a star-studded musical lineup, with Shakira returning as Gazelle, who will present a brand-new track called Zoo, co-written by Ed Sheeran. Packed with mystery, humor, and a deeper look at Zootopia’s hidden worlds, the sequel promises both heart and social commentary, proof that even in a city of predators and prey, everyone’s still got a little wild left inside.
