Bring Her Back gets digital release

Bring Her Back will be released on HBO Max on Friday, October 3, 2025. The film's linear premiere will take place on Saturday, October 4, at 8 p.m. ET. This comes nearly four months after the film played on the big screen.

The film is produced by Samantha Jennings and Kristina Ceyton. It centers on two step-siblings living with their foster mom, who realize that she is involved in occult practices. Here's a list of its cast members:

  • Billy Barratt as Andy
  • Sora Wong as Piper
  • Sally Hawkins as Laura
  • Mischa Heywood as Cathy
  • Jonah Wren Phillips as Oliver / Connor Bird
  • Sally-Anne Upton as a social worker
  • Stephen Phillips as Phil, Andy, and Piper's late father

Upon its release, the film received a positive critical response and grossed $39.1 million. Danny and Michael Philippou started their career by making YouTube videos. The Australian duo made their feature film directorial debut with 2022's horror film Talk to Me. The film was a critical and commercial success, becoming the most profitable horror film of A24.

In an Esquire interview, Danny Philippou spoke about the film:

"Whenever you're writing horror, you're tapping into uncomfortable thoughts and situations."

He began discussing the expectations for their second film.

"I could feel the anxiety mounting. I could feel myself being scared of making anything and those nerves building. I just had to jump into it and confront it. Because I could feel myself getting stuck if I waited any longer. I was like, "You can't stop the process now it's happening. You have to do this. Don't overthink it. Just do it as naturally as you normally would." There's always the fear of the sophomore slump or being a one-hit wonder."
