Ex-husband Kevin Federline is now the latest to give us a disconcerting insight into the life of Britney Spears. In his new memoir You Thought You Knew, the celebrity dancer and DJ puts to question Britney's mental health and her parenting.
In an excerpt sourced by The New York Times, Federline even questions whether winning her conservatorship was the right path in one of the chapters.
“The truth is, this situation with Britney feels like it’s racing toward something irreversible.”
He further states (sic),
“It’s become impossible to pretend everything’s OK. From where I sit, the clock is ticking, and we’re getting close to the 11th hour. Something bad is going to happen if things don’t change, and my biggest fear is that our sons will be left holding the pieces.”
Spears' team was quick to respond to the development. In a statement to the US Weekly Magazine, a representative said:
“With news from Kevin’s book breaking, once again he and others are profiting off her, and sadly it comes after child support has ended with Kevin.”
The representative further added,
“All she cares about are her kids, Sean Preston and Jayden James, and their well-being during this sensationalism.”
The Britney Spears - Kevin Fenderson Saga
After their meeting by sheer happenstance in the summer of 2004, Britney Spears and Kevin Federline became fast friends. It wasn't long before the pop icon and the backup dancer decided to sign the nuptials.

However, the couple got divorced in 2007, after the marriage had lasted almost three years. The couple shares two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James Federline. It was less than a year after this separation that Spears' father famously placed her under conservatorship, which resulted in her very public meltdown.

In this memoir, Kevin details how their children, Sean Preston and Jayden, were 'afraid' of staying with their mother. He revealed,
“They would awaken sometimes at night to find her standing silently in the doorway, watching them sleep — ‘Oh, you’re awake?’ — with a knife in her hand. Then she’d turn around and pad off without explanation.”
Federline also recalled the night when the pop star was placed under psychiatric supervision in 2008. Kevin said of the standoff,
“I felt sick over what she was going through. This was someone I had loved. Someone I had built a life with. The mother of my children...”
Kevin Federline has yet to respond to the new set of responses from Britney Spears' team.
