Renowned Philadelphia radio disc jockey Pierre Robert passed away at the age of 70 on October 29, 2025. Widely known as the voice of Philadelphia rock radio, Robert was a radio jockey for 44 long years. He could be heard on 93.3 WMMR from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The unfortunate news of his death was confirmed to Rolling Stone by his agent.

According to Rolling Stone, Pierre Robert, born in California in 1955, began his radio career at a San Francisco progressive rock station before joining WMMR in 1981. While he was a huge fan of the Grateful Dead, Robert's playlist consisted of artists such as Bruce Springsteen, Bon Jovi, Beru Revue, The Hooters, and Daryl Hall & John Oates.

Following Pierre Robert's death, legendary musician and rock artist Bryan Adams paid tribute to him by dedicating the song "Heaven" at Philadelphia's Xfinity Live! on October 29, 2025. Pierre's image was displayed on the signboard of the venue, accompanied by a caption that read, "In Loving Memory."

According to FOX29, Pierre Robert's colleagues at WMMR, Preston Elliot and Steve Morrison, were shocked to learn about his unexpected death. Elliot, regarding Pierre's death, said:

"It was absolutely sudden and unexpected, and we're having a hard time with this."

Steve Morrison, while talking about Robert, mentioned how dedicated he was to his listeners and that whenever he met them, Pierre made sure to take the time for all of them. Morrison said:

"He took the time with everybody. If there was a room of 150 people that wanted to meet him, or 1,000 people, he stayed until the last person, and it wasn't a just move along sort of thing – he would take the time – he would remember everybody, he wanted to know about you, he wanted to know how you were doing."

However, while the cause of Pierre Robert's death is still unclear, his radio colleague Preston Elliott said:

"There was not an illness, we don't know why. I know that's the natural curiosity when somebody passes and we'll eventual find out, but we don't know at this point."

Besides Bryan Adams, Jon Bon Jovi paid tribute to Pierre Robert
