"But it's so much fun" - Ana de Armas describes working and training with Tom Cruise

Cuban-Spanish actress Ana de Armas, who made her acting debut in Manuel Gutiérrez Aragón's 2006 romantic-adventure film Virgin Rose or Una rosa de Francia, is having a gala time with Hollywood icon Tom Cruise. Interestingly, she has also admitted collaborating with the Mission: Impossible star on upcoming projects.

The 37-year-old Ana de Armas is currently busy with the promotion of her upcoming film Ballerina, which is a John Wick spin-off. Per People, in a May 22, 2025, interview with Women's Wear Daily, she made it clear that all those previous sightings with Cruise were all about

"working on something with (directors) Doug Liman and Christopher McQuarrie," as they are some of the action directors who are Tom's frequent collaborators.

During the interview, while Ana de Armas acknowledged the fact that she is indeed working with the Jack Reacher star, Cruise, she said:

"And of course I'm doing crazy training, as you do when you're working with Tom. It’s another level that just keeps setting the bar higher and higher. But it's so much fun."

The Academy Award-nominated Armas, whose upcoming film Ballerina, directed by Len Wiseman, is scheduled to be released on June 6, 2025, teased that she and Cruise are working on a bunch of things. Although the Deep Water actress was previously spotted hanging out with Cruise multiple times, a source informed People that the two of them are not romantically involved.

It was not only Tom Cruise, but Ana de Armas also talked about her experience working with the John Wick star, Keanu Reeves, in Ballerina during the Women's Daily Wear interview. While Armas admits that Hollywood has several action legends, and Reeves is surely one of them, she stated that it "was a big deal" for her to land a lead role in the super-popular John Wick franchise. Regarding the film, she said:

"As much action as there was on the page, I could see the heart too."

Len Wiseman's Ballerina serves as a spin-off set between all the events that took place in the third and fourth installments of John Wick. Ana de Armas plays the lead opposite Keanu Reeves.

The action-thriller also stars Armas and Reeves but also features Norman Reedus, Ian McShane, Angelica Huston, and Catalina Sandino Moreno, and the film follows a highly skilled and trained assassin of the Ruska Roma organization who is on a mission to seek vengeance for the death of her father.
