Morgan Wallen would rather go golfing with Tom Brady than attend the ACM awards, where he has been nominated seven times.

Wallen failed to make it to this year's awards ceremony on Thursday, May 8, where he was nominated for seven awards, including Entertainer of the Year. Instead, the Last Night singer took to Instagram to share a photo of himself golfing with Tom Brady while the show went on.

"had a little mustard on it @tombrady," his caption read.

Fans have since begun reacting with support, such as one user who penned on X:

"Can't blame him...the production of the #ACMawards was horrific. Definitely wouldn't be good for his brand."

The comments didn't end there:

"I see 2 GOATS," one fan quipped.
"Smart. He knew there was no way the ACM are giving him an award. If “I’m The Problem “ isn’t album of the year next year. Then the fix is in," someone else opined.
"As he should! He always gets disrespected at these damn awards anyways. They like to use his name to get viewers," another added.
"Ain’t mad about it. I would rather be outdoors too," a fourth user chimed in.

Even more joined the ongoing discourse to opine:

"Love this! Love him! He is an icon," one fan quipped.
"He made the much better choice," someone else shared.
"Morgan doesn’t need a trophy… he probably just looks at his bank account," another user jested.
"Why should he make an appearance? Just for them to rob him again?" yet another snarky fan pointed out.

Users were visibly with Morgan Wallen on this one, with many asserting that he has been robbed of many an award in the past.

Everything we know about why Morgan Wallen opts out of attending award ceremonies:

The Last Night singer, 31, was nominated for Single of the Year, Song of the Year, Artist-Songwriter of the Year, and Music Event of the Year at this year's ACM Awards, which were held at the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas.

The star now continues his longtime streak of absence from several other recent award ceremonies, despite nabbing several nominations at each of them. Most notably, he was absent from the 2025 Grammy Awards, where as a first-time nominee, he nabbed two nominations.

At the time, Wallen was up for both Best Country Duo/Group Performance and Best Country Song for I Had Some Help, the latter of which was a collaboration with Post Malone. However, he lost out in both categories.

Last year, Morgan Wallen opted out of attending the 2024 CMA Awards as well, where he was nominated for Entertainer of the Year, an award he ultimately won. At the time, presenter Jeff Bridges accepted the award on the Cowgirls musician's behalf.

"Morgan couldn't make it tonight, so I'm going to accept this award on his behalf," Bridges told the crowd. "Alright, let's hear it for Morgan!"

At the time of writing, Morgan Wallen has yet to make clear why he opts out of award ceremonies.
