Thora Birch had played the role of Danielle Dennison, aka Dani, in the first film. As Disney+ is developing the third entry, Birch was asked if she would like to reprise her role.

Thora Birch recently spoke to Entertainment Tonight, where she was asked if she would like to return to Hocus Pocus 3. In response, the actress said that she is open to this idea.

"Yeah, I’d like to know what they land on for how Dani wound up. I’m super open to the idea."

In the original 1993 film, Birch played the role of Max's 8-year-old sister Dani Dennison. The actress was 11 years old when the first film came out. In the same interview, Birch spoke about how the film failed at the box office and met with mixed critical response.

“It was so devastating when it first came out. It was such a bomb and we were all bummed because we loved making it. We were like, ‘What, you don’t like it?’ and then ten years later they’re like ‘Oh my God, are you that girl from ‘Hocus Pocus'.”

The film gradually attained a cult following among fans. While Birch is willing to reprise her role, she has said that it's open-ended.

“They like talking about this stuff, so we’ll see.”

Earlier this month, Bette Midler revealed that the script for Hocus Pocus 3 is ready.

“Well, you know, they sent a script, and a lot of it was brilliant. So I got very excited, and now we’re trying to figure out what it is and where it’s going to be and how much it’s going to cost and all those logistical things.”

Midler played the role of Winifred Sanderson in the first two installments. Therefore, fans who have been waiting for the third entry might have to wait to see more developments about the same.
