Candice King's wedding will have most of "The Vampire Diaries" and "The Originals" cast, reveals actress' fiancé Steven Krueger

Actress Candice King and fiancé Steven Krueger seem to have been planning their wedding. While King is known for her role in The Vampire Diaries, Krueger played the role of Josh Rosza in The Originals. Sharing an Instagram post about their engagement, Candice King wrote:

“A couple of weeks ago @stevenakrueger gave me the best gift of all when he asked me to marry him. The privilege of getting older is much sweeter knowing I get to share it with you Steven. Thank you for asking me to dance through life with you.”

Meanwhile, in an exclusive interview with The New York Post on May 27, 2025, Steven Krueger was asked about which cast members are likely to be present at their wedding. He said,

“I would assume most of them. We are going to our friend Michael Trevino’s wedding, who is also on ‘Vampire Diaries,’ in a few weeks. So there will be a lot of the cast there, and we’ll have most of the people at ours.”

He went on:

“We have a bunch of group chats. Little ones going and then these fan conventions all the time. It’s so fun because a few times a year, we all get together and reminisce about old times and just catch up with each other, and we don’t see each other all that much outside of it.”

However, Steven Krueger shared that they were in no hurry to plan the wedding right away. They had been thinking about potential locations and the kind of wedding they wanted, knowing there were many options to consider.

A peek into Candice King and Steven Krueger’s relationship so far

According to The New York Post, Candice King and Steven Krueger met for the first time in 2013. In November 2023, she shared on the Superbloom podcast that she had been seeing someone. She clarified that it was just one person and preferred not to go into too much detail.

King hinted that the relationship had been going on for a while and described the person as kind. She also mentioned that it brought her happiness and that she didn’t plan to share much more about it.

The next month, Candice King shared an Instagram video, and one of the clips showed King sharing a kiss with Steven Krueger. The post was captioned:

“I laughed. I cried. I laughed til I cried. I loved. Thanks for the dance 2023.”

Meanwhile, Steven Kruger shared their wedding plans, saying:

“Right now, we are really debating if we want a big, traditional, fancy wedding or if we do a smaller thing with family and friends somewhere exotic. I think once we settle on one of those, then we’ll have some things to bite into.”

In December 2024, Candice King shared on Instagram that the month had been full of activity, with trips from Mystic Falls to Paris and then to Florida. She posted photos of herself and Steven Krueger kissing and said she was finally ready to relax during the quiet days between Christmas and New Year’s.

According to Us Weekly, Krueger traveled to Florida in December 2024 with Candice King and her two daughters from her previous marriage.
