According to new legal documents obtained by TMZ Hip Hop, Cardi B was awarded $3.9 million in a defamation case against YouTube Tasha K after she made derogatory comments against the rapper in her videos.

The decision comes after Tasha K filed for bankruptcy in May, 2023, and the court notified Cardi along with her 30 other debtors, including the IRS, the Broward County Tax Collector, the Florida Department of Revenue, and Bank of America. The filing took effect on June 2, as the court looked into Tasha K's finances.

On March 5, a bankruptcy judge approved Tasha K's financial plan, which allows her to pay Cardi in installments through her various projects. Other than the financial front of the lawsuit, Cardi's legal team has included a non-disparagement clause which bars YouTube from making any additional defamatory or derogatory comments about the rapper or her family.

More about Cardi B's lawsuit against Tasha K

In March 2019, Cardi B filed a defamation lawsuit against YouTuber Tasha K, alleging a "campaign of slander." Cardi's lawyers called Tasha's videos a "malicious campaign" to hurt Cardi's career and reputation for making videos which allegedly claimed that the actor had committed s*xual acts "with beer bottles on f***ing stripper stages."

Other videos accused Cardi B of being a prostitute, contracting herpes, and using cocaine. Cardi took the witness stand to plead her case and claimed that she suffered extreme "anxiety" and depression over Tasha's videos.

She also noted that the stress caused her weight to fluctuate, and caused issues in her personal relationships.

The rapper issued repeated warnings to the YouTuber to take down the content, which the latter refused, ultimately leading Cardi to file a lawsuit.

In April, 2022, Cardi B won a legal battle against Tasha. A federal judge ordered the YouTuber to take down over 20 illicit and defamatory videos about the rapper and ordered her to never post about the rapper again. The order came after Tasha in a video claimed that she would never pay the rapper:

"Let me tell you how this was a blessing though. Cause can't nobody else sue me, and even if they do, I ain't got m0ney. We've got estate lawyers, we've got every muthaf***ing thing. I ain't got ***t in my name b****."

As part of the recent settlement, Tasha is ordered to submit copies of her tax returns to Cardi's legal team along with quarterly income reports to the court.
