Playboi Carti gave a shout-out to Kanye West during his recent performance in Chicago, and fans are buzzing with excitement.

The rapper was on stage performing for a sold-out venue at the United Center show today, October 31, as part of his “Antagonist 2.0” tour, when he thanked Ye for helping him in his life.

“Ye, I love you, bro,” Carti said. “I love Ye…That n-gga helped change my life.”

He also performed a live rendition of their famous collaboration, Carnival.

Videos of the same have already begun swirling on X, with one fan after the other chiming in with opinions. Scores are also speculating about another possible collaboration between the two, such as this one user who penned on the microblogging platform:

"Yeah, CartiYe is 100% happening."

See how the rest of social media is reacting:

"Same cycle, different year. They hate Ye, they dismiss Ye, they understand Ye, they come back to Ye. Lightyears ahead," one fan remarked.
"Kanye is the reason your favorite rapper has a career," another claimed.
"WERE SO BACK LETS GO," someone else exclaimed.
"These Carti shout outs are very very sacred. He doesn't say this for nothing," a fourth user opined.

The comments didn't end there:

"They all come crawling back," one fan remarked.
"Smelling a monstrous Kanye comeback," someone else quipped.
"travis and carti go through a cycle of beefing with then supporting ye every year," yet another claimed.
"Everyone miss Ye when the numbers down," one more user opined.

Users were visibly divided, though many Kanye West fans did claim that everyone only becomes a fan of the controversial rapper when it suits them best.

Here's everything we know about Kanye West and Playboi Carti's friendship:

Notably, Kanye West and Playboi Carti were beefing just a few months ago. In May, the former accused the latter of using his song sample in Ye's Alive track, featuring NBA Youngboy.

At the time, Ye shared a snippet of the song on his Instagram account, and eagle-eyed fans were quick to point out that it featured a sample of Playboi Carti's Crank. Shortly after, Cari shared a post on his Instagram page targeted at Ye:

"DIS MY SONG LIL BRA @ye."

He also shared the music video of what seemed to be the original track.

The two rappers have been linked since at least 2016, Billboard has reported, with either of them sprouting several hits in the years since. However, Ye has been stirring major controversy online, especially for his string of antisemitic tweets.

Playboi Carti never addressed his actions, and as of this writing, the status of their relationship remains unclear.
