Rapper Erica Banks seems to have found herself in hot water once again. According to a report by WSBTV, the Brookhaven Police Department has issued charges against her for possessing substances. As per records, the charges under which she was booked are described as:“V.G.C.S.A. - POSSESSION OF A SCHEDULE I OR II CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE-ECSTACY.”She was arrested at a traffic stop on December 8 after she was pulled over on Buford Highway. She has been held at the DeKalb County Jail, CBS News mentions. The report also mentions that she was released from jail.In August 2025, Erica Banks was apprehended at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. She reportedly had a stolen firearm inside her purse. After the security check, officials found that the gun was stolen property from South Carolina. Her legal representative shared a statement at the time, saying:“It is our contention that when she was caught with this weapon, she had no idea it was stolen. So she is not guilty of any offense. She explained that her first project, Cocky on Purpose, was very personal because she was new in 2019 and was trying to express her feelings through stories.However, Cocky on Purpose 2 was made to be more fun, with more dancing, club music, and a good vibe instead of a deep story. Speaking about working with Big Boogie, she said:“I sent him the song and I said, ‘Hey, if you like this you know put a verse on it.’ And he sent it back the very next day. It was fire. We shot the video he was on time.”Erica Banks appreciated Big Boogie’s punctuality.
