Chase Infiniti reacts to acting opposite Leonardo DiCaprio in One Battle After Another: "That truly blew my mind"

For Chase Infiniti, working alongside Leonardo DiCaprio on One Battle After Another felt like a dream, and the actress is giving us all the details about their first meet and how she was starstruck as she worked alongside him. Infiniti is getting much appreciation for her role in the film, along with stars Teyana Taylor and Leonardo DiCaprio. And for the actress, the moment came to her when director Paul Thomas Anderson casually told her she got the part, making it one of the biggest highlights of her acting career.

Speaking to Interview Magazine about working alongside DiCaprio, the actress said,

"I remember getting told that I was going to meet him in a chemistry read, and then, finding out that I booked the job and that I would be working with him, I was like, “What do you mean I’m going to be acting opposite Leonardo DiCaprio?” That truly blew my mind. Paul was like, “Okay, so in case you didn’t know, you got the job.” And I was like, “Oh, great!”"

In One Battle After Another, Infiniti plays Willa, the daughter of revolutionaries Pat Calhoun, played by Leo and Perfidia Beverly Hills, played by Teyana Taylor. Although it's a supporting role, Willa's character forms the very backbone of the story and becomes the driving force of the narrative and all the events that happen throughout the film.

Adding on how she prepared to work alongside the Titanic actor, she continued,

"I think it was helpful to have a lot of prep time. I started to do prep work with him and P.T.A. like a month before we started shooting, which was nice because then I got to build a relationship with Leo. We would talk a lot about the dynamic between Bob and Willa [DiCaprio and Infiniti’s characters], and where they started, and then where they are now when you meet them in the film."

One Battle After Another has emerged as one of the most talked about films of the year with it's high-octane action, political premise and a vulnerable story at it's heart that is about family, freedom, and forgiveness. The story follows two revolutionaries Perfidia and Pat, played by Teyana Taylor and Leonardo DiCaprio, who are a part of this revolutionary group called the French 75. When Perfidia once gets encountered by a military officer, Steven Lockjaw, he becomes obsessed with her and determined to bring down the revolutionary group.

On the other hand, Perfidia and Pat fall in love but tragedy strikes when Perfidia is caught in one of her bomb schemes by Lockjaw, and for clemency, she rats out members of her team. As the French 75 dissolves, Pat disappears with their daughter Willa, while Perfidia abandons everything and runs away.

Now in a new town with new names and a new life, Pat is haunted again by his past and this time they are after something even bigger: his daughter.
