Chloë Grace Moretz is a married woman!
The former Disney child star, 28, got hitched to Kate Harrison, 38, over Labor Day weekend, Vogue has reported. The two had been dating since 2018. She spoke to the outlet ahead of her big day, reflecting on what she has in common with the model-cum-photographer:
"A big part of the wedding [is about] sharing things that Kate and I love with everyone that’s going to be there,” she said. “So there’s fishing, horseback riding and poker. Kate made a custom poker mat herself, so we’re going to kind of be leaning into it. Our second day is going to be line dancing and everything.”
Chloë Grace Moretz and Kate Harrison's wedding explored:
Vogue has reported that Chloë Grace Moretz and Kate Harrison have largely kept their romance out of the public eye. The former is known for several of her roles as a child, including Carrie and The Miseducation of Cameron Post, while the latter has modeled for J. Crew and Topshop, among others.
The pair confirmed they were engaged on New Year's Day this year, when they took to social media to show off their matching diamond rings. Moretz, who knew she was going to propose to her beau, said she was extra excited about getting to design two rings instead of one:
“I had worked with Elizabeth Potts at Moon Stone for years, resetting vintage jewelry, into new custom settings, and that’s what I knew I wanted to do with our rings,” Chloë Grace Moretz explains. “Both of our diamonds are Victorian diamonds, and we wanted to reset them in a Victorian sense. I was excited to do something like that, that felt like it could become our future family heirloom.”
In line with the age-old tradition, the brides opted out of seeing each other before they walked down the aisle. “We’re doing all of this separately,” Chloë Grace Moretz said. She also had a "something blue": Her light blue wedding dress and veil, which she paired with matching long gloves.
“It just feels like me,” Moretz told Vogue. “I never really envisioned a wedding dress in my mind growing up, so when we started talking about what that would look like, I knew I would do something non-traditional, and not wear white, and kind of have it feel different, and I think it really does.”
As for Harrison, she opted for a bodice and trousers paired with a sheer overlay on top. For her ceremony, however, she went with a traditional white gown and a sweetheart neckline.
“The thing I’m the most excited for -- other than being married -- is that first look moment,” Harrison told Vogue before the wedding. “Having no idea of what we look like in our dresses, it’s going to be so special. This dress just kind of makes you feel ready. This design is perfect. I’m ready!”
As for what Chloë Grace Moretz was most excited about, she said it's "just being together."
"We’ve been together for almost seven years and making this promise to each other in a new way, and exchanging these vows," the Carrie star said. "I think it’s important to just stay every day choosing each other."
