Christie Brinkley speaks out after ex Billy Joels brain disorder diagnosis

Christie Brinkley shares a message to ex Billy Joel on her Instagram after the Uptown Girl singer had to cancel the rest of his scheduled concerts after it was revealed that he has a brain condition called Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus. Joel, 76, informed his fans of the tour cancellation and his diagnosis on Friday via his social media.

On May 24, 2025, Brinkley shared her well-wishes to her ex-boyfriend, Billy Joe, via her Instagram, a video from one of Joel's concerts. She began her message by penning down,

"Dear Billy, The whole Brinkley gang is sending you lots of love and good wishes for a full and speedy recovery."

Further, she asks Joel to take care of himself and concludes the message with,

"And we’re always in the mood for your melodies and we all hope you’re feeling alright! We Love You, the kids, me and an arena or two!"

WebMD describes NPH as a "condition that happens when you have too much of a certain kind of fluid in parts of your brain."

The statement shared on Instagram informs the fans that the concerts are cancelled and the condition has affected hearing, vision, and balance. It also contained an apology from Billy Joel and information on Ticket refunds.

Brinkley shares that during their dating period, he did all the old-school romantic things, from bringing her flowers and even poems.

Brinkley, who starred in the music video of Joel's song, Uptown Girl, shared that she ended things with the singer because " his drinking was bigger than both of us.” And to the publication, in the present, she reflects that,

According to US Weekly, the two divorced in August 1994. Despite being exes, Brinkley and Joel share a good relationship and have a daughter named Alexa Ray Joel, who was born in 1985. Brinkley's memoir, Uptown Girl, came out on April 29, 2025.
