Ciara has officially put the past behind her when it comes to Rihanna. During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live this Thursday, the 39-year-old singer addressed the long-standing rumors of a feud between her and the Fenty mogul.
Reflecting on the tense tweet exchange that took place nearly 14 years ago, Ciara assured viewers that there's no bad blood left. CiCi signaled that the pair has long moved on, sharing:
“CiCi got a lot of love for RiRi,”
Ciara clarifies where she stands with Rihanna after viral spat:

The long-rumored feud between the R&B singer and Rihanna began back in February 2011. Ciara had appeared on E!’s Fashion Police. During her guest stint, she offered candid thoughts on Rihanna’s demeanor after seeing a red carpet photo of her.
“I ran into her recently at a party and she wasn’t the nicest and it’s crazy because I’ve always loved and respected what she’s done with fashion. I’ve ran into her before, but this time it wasn’t the most pleasant run-in,” Ciara said on the show.
Not long after, Rihanna clapped back on Twitter (Now rebranded as X) with,
“My bad ci, did I 4get to tip u? #howrudeofme.”
CiCi responded with,
“Trust me Rhianna u dont want to see me on or off the stage,”
To which Rihanna shot back,
“U gangsta huh? Haaa, good luck with bookin that stage u speak of.”
The online spat caused a stir at the time, but both artists eventually apologized.
Now, more than a decade later, the singer revealed that she and Rihanna recently reunited at the Met Gala, and things went much differently. Speaking on Watch What Happens Live, CiCi reflected,
“Oh my gosh, we were babies. Now we’re mamas doing our thing. It’s all love.”
“We got to have a good conversation and she’s now having her third baby, which is so cool. So shout out to mamas out here doing everything,” she added.
From humble beginnings to global stardom: Ciara shares her journey
Ciara’s career may span music, fashion, and sports, but her roots, she says, keep her grounded.
In an interview with The Guardian, the artist reflected on her current life as a mother of four, founder of her own record label, Beauty Marks, and part-owner of the Seattle Sounders alongside her husband, NFL player Russell Wilson.
As she prepared to perform at Mighty Hoopla, the Get Up singer admitted she’s still adjusting to the festival scene.
“I know that everyone loves to come out at Mighty Hoopla, people want to live their best lives, be free, have fun, dance, leave happy. So that’s my goal: to make people experience all of that.”
Her relentlessly positive outlook, visible even in challenging conversations, has been a constant. Born in Austin, Texas, and raised mostly in Atlanta, Ciara described her childhood with honesty.
“I didn’t have a lot growing up, to be honest, but I had a big dream and I was very convinced in my vision of what I saw life like for myself.”
Her parents’ military service shaped her values from early on. “A proud military brat,” she said, with her mother in the air force and father in the army.
