"Clout sucks": Offset responds to viral accidental appearance on model Angel Fernandez's Instagram post

American rapper Offset, in a widely circulated social media video on August 26, was spotted chatting with influencer model Angel Fernandez. In the video, the rapper and the model can be seen interacting in a casino. However, when the cameras start rolling, the rapper makes a quick exit.

The video became meme material, with many users joking about their height difference, as the rapper is 5'9" and Angel Fernandez is 6'8". Fernandez posted the video as a reel on Instagram with the caption,

"That one time I intimidated Offset..."

The rapper commented on the post, saying,

"No intimation just ain't want to be a reel for clout."

The rapper took to another one of the model's posts and commented,

"Clout sucks."

What Offset said about internet gossip

The rapper's reaction to Angel Fernandez's post and claim that she posted it for clout is not the first time the artist has expressed opinions on internet users rooting for attention. In a 2019 GQ interview, the rapper blamed blogs and gossipmongers for his split with Cardi B and said that he wants the internet to look at him as an artist and nothing more.

“I want to be an artist, bro. You know me as Offset from the Migos. The personal s***, that’s for me and my family. When I do my apology, I’m doing it for my family, bro. It’s not for you."

He opened up about how he deals with public scrutiny and said,

"You’ve got to keep your family tight, especially in the public eye. I ain’t no perfect dude, I’ve done some f***d up s***. But we moved past that. I’m growing as a man, I’m educating myself. The blogs just trying to be shooting n***s down all day, bro. At the end of the day, it causes insecurities inside the house. Keep that to yourself."

In the same year, he released the track Clout featuring Cardi B, where he critiques fame seekers. He calls out people seeking attention and claims that the blogs and the media are "fake" for feeding off of controversy. In the track, the rapper also slams netizens that feed controversy on social media platforms and critiques their "public opinions from private accounts."
