Coco Jones and Donovan Mitchell announce engagement after keeping romance low-key

Coco Jones and Donovan Mitchell are officially engaged. Both the Grammy-winning R&B singer and NBA All-Star revealed the news on Friday, July 11, posting a romantic sunset photo that showed off her new ring.

In the clip, which shows an aerial view of the resort, the couple is seen strolling along the poolside before Donovan Mitchell drops to one knee. The moment looked straight out of a music video: Coco Jones in a white dress, a golden-hour backdrop, the serene sea, and a celebratory kiss.

Plenty of celebrities dropped into the Instagram comments to share their excitement. Ciara wrote:

“Yaaaaaayy!! So happy for you guys.”

Others joining in included Angel Reese, Lady London, Jaylen Brown, and Jessie Reyez.

Though they had been dating for more than a year, the couple kept things private until March, when Coco Jones confirmed their relationship on Club Shay Shay with Shannon Sharpe.

Coco Jones said:

“I love the internet because they definitely clocked my tea. Little spies everywhere. I’m happy and I will say, my music is my outlet where I tell my stories and my truth. Some things I keep for myself because this is my life, too. I say some things and you can hear it on my album.”

She went on:

“Secrecy is not what I prefer. I don’t want to feel like I have to be somebody secret. I don’t want to make anybody feel like they’re mine. For me, I’m trying to protect myself, and I’m trying to protect my family and who I love, so I am more private.”
