Carlos López Estrada's Ded finishes production
Academy Award-nominated Mexican director Carlos López Estrada's upcoming film Ded has finished production. As per Deadline, it's a silent film, which means that it will not feature any spoken dialogue. Its shooting took place in Mexico City, which is also the director's hometown. While the film doesn't have dialogue, it contains several musical numbers.
The film focuses on a man who has passed away, but he has to watch the world go ahead without him. It is written by Anna Moskowitz and Estrada, who adapted it from a namesake 2015 stage play. The play itself was played by Lopez, Estrada, and Cristina Bercovitz.

Estrada has also produced the film with Mendes, Valerie Bush, Rachel Matthews, Josh Peters, Stacy Perskie, Sean Wang, Tanner Anderson, Max Siemers, Will Cathcart, Jennifer J. Pritzker, and Chris Quintos. Its production banners include Antigravity Academy, Honor Role, Spark Features, Redrum, Magic Hour Entertainment and Cedar Road.
Estrada has directed films like Blindspotting, Summertime, Raya and the Last Dragon, and Lil Nas X: Long Live Montero. He has also directed an episode of the superhero television series Legion. Besides being a filmmaker, Estrada has also acted in Mexican productions. The makers are yet to announce the films' release date.
Meanwhile, Camila Mendes has acted in films like Idiotka, Griffin in Summer (both also produced by her), Upgraded, Palm Springs, and Coyote Lake. She is also expected to star in Travis Knight's superhero film Masters of the Universe. Mendes has also played the lead role of Veronica Lodge in Riverdale.
