Denise Richards’ ugly divorce from ex Aaron Phypers has reached a new boiling point. According to reports obtained firsthand by People Magazine, Richards has requested the court for Phypers and his family to vacate her Calabasas property.
Phypers has been living on the premises with his parents and brother, and the actress could not visit the property to retrieve her dogs and personal belongings from the property without violating the temporary restraining order they have in place.
Her latest request comes on the heels of her ex-husband failing to pay rent on a home with both of their names on the lease. His stay was reportedly meant to be temporary, and Denise Richards was allegedly told “several times” the Phypers would be leaving in accounts dating back to 2024.
It seems as though the situation is nowhere near resolution, although hopefully the latest filings will provide more clarity to all parties involved
Denise Richards' recent court request: A closer look
The lynchpin for this entire series of events occurred when Denise Richards was informed by the property’s landlord that Phypers had defaulted on rent payments, leading to his eviction notice. The Wild Things star claims she was notified on July 24 that eviction proceedings would begin on August 23.
According to her complaint:
“I left many of my personal items and my late mother's items at the house based on Aaron telling me that his family would be moving back to Canada and we would be moving back into the [property]. If I am not able to [retrieve] my dogs and belongings, I believe my dogs will be harmed and my property destroyed or discarded during the eviction process.”
Richards goes on to say:
“I was shocked at the condition of the home, having not lived there for over two years.”
Included in her official complaint are images showing the home in utter ‘disarray’. A source close to the Phypers family had a drastically different outlook on Denise Richards’ allegations:
“We thought all these shenanigans were being dropped from courts. We also don’t see an emergency as warranted with the current action, especially with Denise’s immediate interest in trying to get into the residence Aaron lives in is not only suspicious, but manipulative.”
The purported insider also added:
“She has kept all personal, business, and third-party equipment from Phypers, leaving him with only a shirt on his back for the last 50 days.”
It seems like both parties have a long way to go before there is any resolution; hopefully, that tie comes sooner rather than later.
