Denise Richards wants estranged husband Aaron Phypers and his mother to reportedly testify in abuse case

In the ongoing divorce war between Denise Richards and estranged husband Aaron Phypers, the actress adds his mother to the list of witnesses against Aaron. On August 29, Richards submitted her witness list for the hearing, which is taking place next week, and it includes Aaron’s 84-year-old mom, Patricia Phypers, who is expected to testify against him and make the temporary restraining order Denise has against him permanent.

According to Denise Richards, Patricia is expected to testify for an hour and will “testify regarding communications” she had with Richards “regarding abuse perpetrated on [Richards] by [Aaron].” She has also enlisted three unidentified witnesses, as well as Aaron, who she expects to take the stand for four hours.

The former The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star had filed for the restraining order days after Aaron first filed for divorce, on July 7th, claiming he had been abusive during their marriage.

In her filing, she claimed, “Throughout our relationship, Aaron would frequently violently choke me, violently squeeze my head with both hands, tightly squeeze my arms, violently slap me in my face and head, aggressively slam my head into the bathroom towel rack, threaten to kill me, hold me down with his knee on my back to the point where I would have to plead with him to get off me so that he would not kill me and hack into my laptop and phone and download all of my text messages.”

However, Aaron has turned the tables on her, claiming Denise Richards was the abuser in their relationship and all the claims against him are false.

Phypers previously told Us, “I want to address recent rumors and speculation that have surfaced regarding my relationship with my wife, Denise Richards. Let me be unequivocally clear: I have never physically or emotionally abused Denise — or anyone.”

He further added, “These accusations are completely false and deeply hurtful. Denise and I, like many couples, have faced our share of challenges, but any suggestion of abuse is categorically untrue. I have always tried to approach our marriage with love, patience, and respect. I ask for privacy as we navigate personal matters, and I hope that the public and media will refrain from spreading harmful and baseless claims.”

A source had earlier told Us Weekly the potential reasoning behind their divorce.

The separation also didn't quite come as a surprise to people close to them.
