Derek and Julianne Hough hint at performing together on DWTS

Dancing siblings Derek and Julianne Hough are considering sharing the stage again with another performance in the Dancing With the Stars ballroom.

In a joint exclusive with Us Weekly, Derek shared, “We should. That door is always open for us to get together and do something fun, especially on Dancing With the Stars and Ovation as well."

However, while promoting the dance competition Ovation by DanceOne, Derek and Julianne expressed that they are happy with their respective roles, being in the ballroom as a judge and co-host, and are not quite interested in swapping their roles. While Derek is a judge at DTWS, Julianne is a co-host alongside Alfonso Ribeiro.

“Similar to Ovation, I’ve been on the stage and now I love watching other people shine,” she expressed. “I get to also watch as a fan this time and then I get to support and hopefully ask the right kind of questions to have America fall in love with them and want to root for them. So I really love my current position.”

Julianne Hough further gushed about what it is like to be part of a show like this, which has so much momentum, as the duo has played different roles in the show through the years.

“The fact that it’s the 20th year and it’s never felt more relevant and in the zeitgeist of what’s happening in pop culture, it’s kind of incredible,” she said. “But I always say — this is my woo woo side — I’m like, ‘It’s family. It’s connected. It’s a transformation show masked in rhinestones and fringe and dancing.’ It’s truly about watching people go on a journey and we get to go on it with them.”

Furthermore, the "Burlesque" actress also shared the varied lessons she has learned throughout the journey.

Julianne Hough told the magazine, “There were definite life lessons along the way. [Learning] dance and technique and professionally are important, but the life lessons of resilience and tenacity and how to show up and add value, how to be connected to your uniqueness. All of those things shaped us, from our guides and our mentors.”

Julianne joined the show as a professional dancer in Season 4, in 2007, and won with her partner Apolo Ohno, and also in Season 5 with her partner Hélio Castroneves, before returning as a judge in the later seasons. Derek has won six times since joining the show in Season 5.
