Did Bella Thorne date Charlie Puth? Connection explored as Jade Thirlwall accuses the singer of 'lying' and starting 'hate train' against her

Actress Jade Thirlwall accuses Charlie Puth of reportedly "lying" and starting a 'hate train'.

Charlie Puth has always had quite a long dating history, from Selena Gomez, though never confirmed, to actresses such as Danielle Campbell and Halston Sage. However, there is one actress from his past who has recently come out to call the musical prodigy out for alleged unsolicited behaviour.

After Pop Faction posted about how the "Little Mix" singer Jade Thirlwall does not want to collab with Puth, Thorne commented on the post, explaining exactly why she wouldn't want to either.

According to her comment, she states:

"Yeah I mean .. he lied to the entire world about me and started a hate train. All because I wouldn’t …. Do the deed with him."

Charlie Puth and Bella Thorne technically never dated; however, they were spotted together a few times in public around 2016-2017, and rumours had run amok. The duo was spotted holding hands while on a Miami beach stroll in December 2016, though in an interview in 2017 on SiriusXM’s The Jenny McCarthy Show, the Disney star revealed that:

"I hung out with him twice. We went to the movies. He was cool." "I was like, 'Wow, you’re really talented. Holy sh*t. You’re f*cking great, dude.' And then he invited me to Jingle Ball to watch him perform,"

What caused a controversy was when rumours of them dating started to swirl, and Charlie Puth reportedly came across an article about Thorne and her Teen Wolf ex-boyfriend, Tyler Posey. Based on the timeline mentioned in the article, the "Attention" singer allegedly started making speculations, which now escalated to a series of now-deleted tweets on X (then Twitter).

And although Puth didn’t name Bella in his tweets, he apologised to Posey, writing:

“I don’t know Tyler personally, but I know he shouldn’t be treated this way. She told me she was not with him anymore. This is all news to me.”

He went on:

"I don't know Tyler personally, but I know he shouldn't be treated this way."

However, Bella tried to clear things up immediately by tweeting herself:

"Ty and I have been broken up for like over two weeks and charlie and I ARENT DATING we are friends. That article was written forever ago"

Due to a misunderstanding, she received quite a lot of hate online.

However, in the same 2017 SiriusXM interview, Bella also revealed,

"Charlie saw an old news article, and he didn't look at the date, and the date is old, and it's about me and Ty. I felt super bad. I kept calling him. He wouldn’t answer my calls, and then he just starts texting me.”

Thirlwall expressed that the whole ordeal if Charlie Puth had been upfront about it with her.
