Former Spice Girls member, Geri Halliwell, has lately been making headlines over the news that she might have ditched her husband, Christian Horner's surname. The 52-year-old singer-songwriter, who is known to go by Geri Halliwell-Horner, has returned to her maiden name for a video collaboration with the French luxury brand Dior, claimed a report in Express.

The speculation of her surname change comes after her husband Christian's name was pulled into a controversy over messages that the British former racing driver and motorsport executive allegedly sent to a female co-worker in 2024. Geri Halliwell, who shares a daughter, Bluebell, with her former partner, Sasha Gervasi, has been married to Christian Horner since 2015. Halliwell and Horner also share a son, Monty, who is eight.

While the former Spice Girls member's official Instagram handle with 1.4 million followers remains @gerihalliwellhorner, the British singer in the Instagram video with Dior, introduced herself saying,

"C'est moi Geri, Geri Halliwell", which in English means "It's me Geri, Geri Halliwell".

In the video, she features with the Dior Cruise 2025 collection. Netizens, meanwhile, are confused whether she has ditched her husband's surname, Halliwell, according to Express, took the opportunity to address and clarify the rumor regarding the matter and told The Sunday Times:

"That's a load of c**p. It's my writing name. I haven't legally changed anything — Horner is the name on my passport."

Meanwhile, the 51-year-old Christian Horner, who has been the boss of Red Bull Formula One since 2005, was fired from the position of Red Bull CEO and team principal on July 9, 2025. He has been replaced by Laurent Meckies. Christian, who denied the allegations of behaving inappropriately with a female co-worker, was cleared of the accusations, not once but twice, according to the Independent.

As per Express, Christian, in a 2024 interview with Daily Mail, addressed the scandal and said:

"What happened at the start of the year felt like a perfect storm. In life, it is a great lesson that the more success you have, the more of a target you become. Anything that can be used to unsettle and destabilise you and the team and the business. What disappointed me more than anything was the steps that people went to in order to try and achieve that."
